8.EE.3 Use numbers expressed in the form of a single digit times an integer power of 10 to estimate very large or very small quantities, and to express how many times as much one is than the other. 8.EE.4 Perform operations with numbers expressed in scientific notation, including problems where both decimal and scientific notation are used. Use scientific notation and choose units of appropriate size for measurements of very large or very small quantities 1) Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard? This standard relates to the project, because you had to look up the population of Russia, and it's capitol Moscow, to the population of the United States which was more than the population of Russia, and we had to determine which country has the largest population. 2) What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment? Well I had to get the population of my country, and it's captiol verses the U.S. population, so I wrote it down on the paper I was given, and wrote it in 2 forms, one in standard from, two in scientific notation which was easy, but then I put it on my project paper and drew Russia, the United States, etc. 3) This assignment demonstrates the following strengths... It demonstrates how I can make projects, and turn it in, also it shows that I can get stuff done, and get a good grade on it. Also it shows that I am good at math. 4) I could have improved my work on this assignment by... Making the project more neat, and turning it in earlier, and getting a better grade with it. I also could have designed the poster to look more neat. 5) How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student? I will apply it to future projects I have like in math, or science, or any other projects I have. Also, I will apply it to jobs or stuff I need to do. I learned about web design when I posted this project and I may want to do web design as a career in the future. |
